It would be so great to imagine “yourself as a traveller, going to unknown places, having new cuisines, and roam at all hours of the night.” Gen Z are now ignoring clustered holidays and prefer to go alone as single adventurer. This is a game changer as it helps to learn more about existence.
Chirag Tomar, 23-year-old, businessman, owning a manufacturing firm, Delhi, says, “I went to Manali back in 2022 for whole week and stayed at The 7th Chalet, Simsa. It was my first time. But it made me fearless. I met so many people, made new friends, and wandering day-night. I learned how to handle things on my own which came across my way. It taught me how to handle a budget of Rs.20,000 wisely and even manage to come out with some savings.”
These outings are either the best or the worst encounters to unravel. It forces us to be both a planner and navigator which later helps them to get sharper, faster, and ready for the life trials.
Prateek Taparia, a 29-year-old, businessman from Delhi states, “At the age of 18, I took my first individual ride to Goa for 10 days and stayed in zostel, Anjuna, in North Goa on a budget of just Rs10,000 back in 2014. It was terrifying episode as I got lost and almost forgot my wallet with credit cards at a café. However, the owner called me shortly after I left and informed about it. By the end of it, I felt the best. I went from doubting myself to taking decisions for small things really quick.”
Such events help in self-discovery, one gets to learn more about what excites, scares and makes them happy. It changes and broadens the perspective of a person. Making money while touring is one of the most lovable parts for creators. Influencers like Aakriti Rana followed by 1million fans on Instagram have good photography skills, shares the thoughts, and beauty of the destination.
Sudipto Adak, 23, Political Science Student at Amity University, Noida says, “Spending time by my own self at a new place makes my soul happy it gives me the space to create and reflect on my creative side. My recent 1-week journey to Spiti valley was so good. I recorded a lot of content and I am eager to finally post on my social media.”
Solo trips aren’t just about travel it’s about growth, independence, getting out of comfort zone and the most importantly performing a lot of activities. It’s true as they say, ‘catch flights, not group chat drama.’
